Leading high-performance lubricant specialist Molyslip, has introduced a new product, MQL (Minimum Quantity Lubricants), to its portfolio. This latest addition, provides customers with significant benefits such as less lubricant consumption and lower maintenance requirements, making it also a greener alternative to flood lubricants. It is designed for the near dry machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The high polarity, natural base fluids exhibit excellent metal wetting properties and outstanding film strength, virtually eliminating contact between the tool and workpiece. This high lubricity improves surface finish and minimizes tool wear. The new MQL range is suitable for use on most ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Operations such as sawing, milling and drilling can be carried out utilising spray mist application methods. The lubricant comes in both 5 ltr and 20 ltr packaging.
Andrew Cunningham, General Manager at Molyslip says: “We are very excited to add this superb product to the Molyslip portfolio. Alongside its green credentials, the lubricant promises to provide optimum hydrodynamic and boundary lubrication to extend tool life and provide outstanding surface finish, leaving components almost dry. In addition, it is low odour, pleasant to use and will eliminate waste oil disposal costs. Molyslip MQL can replace coolants in a wide range of machining applications and processes. In line with our environmental credentials, they are also free from mineral oil, silicones, chlorine and sulphur.
